Redditch, Worcestershire twinned with Auxerre, Burgundy.

Redditch is a unique blend of old and new.

Old, because it has a history that dates back to the 12th century with a Cistercian monastery.
New, because it now has modern shopping, housing and leisure facilities carefully blended with a thriving business community.

Redditch has come a long way fast. Having dominated the global needle-making industry in the 19th century, Redditch was designated a New Town in 1964.

Major housing and industrial estates were built and the superb Kingfisher Shopping Centre came to dominate the town. Now, 35 years later, Redditch is entering an exciting new era with a town centre "renaissance".

Redditch has a superb range of facilities for visitors and local people to enjoy. Set in unspoilt Worcestershire countryside, there are several open spaces, parks and woodlands which are the ideal setting for enjoying the outdoor life.
