Redditch, Worcestershire twinned with Auxerre, Burgundy.

The highlight of the Society’s year is in May when we visit Auxerre, to stay with our hosts in their homes. On alternate years the Auxerrois visit Redditch to be entertained in our homes, and we organise social and cultural events during the visit.

These events can be hard work but are a great way of learning about one another, and give much satisfaction.

It is a great opportunity to meet, and live with people from another country, albeit for a short time. It is your opportunity to learn about a different culture and way of life.

It is sometimes surprising to realise how similar in out-look the ordinary people of France are to us. They have their social problems as we do, and are trying to combat them in much the same way.
